ANTIVIRUS
DESCRIPTION:
AVAST HOME EDITION is a very nice program. It comes with an easy to use interface, so basically anyone can use it. It's detection rate is good, it inlcudes a boot-time scan, resident protection, heuristic analysis for email, and a script blocker.
The program works great as an on-demand or resident virus scanner
DESCRIPTION:
AVG has been around for a long time now and is still very useful to net surfers.
The updates for the program are updated regularly and there are alot of features that will aid you, such as an email scanner, virus vault and much more
DESCRIPTION:
AVIRA ANTIVIR has a very good detection rate for viruses and it is a very good product for protecting your system.
While it has a high detection rate it does not offer email protection, which differs from AVG and AVAST. It is fast, effective and is popular. ROOTKITS
DESCRIPTION:
A powerful rootkit (virus-type programs that can evade detection by ordinary antivirus products) detector.
At the time of writing, there is no help file that comes with the program.
This is because the creator is chinese, but I have found a page here
