DESCRIPTION:
AVAST FREE ANTIVIRUS is a very nice program. It comes with an easy to use interface, so basically anyone can use it. It's detection rate is good, it inlcudes a boot-time scan, resident protection, heuristic analysis for email, and a script blocker.
The program works great as an on-demand or resident virus scanner
DESCRIPTION:
AVIRA ANTIVIR has a very good detection rate for viruses and it is a very good product for protecting your system.
While it has a high detection rate it does not offer email protection, which differs from AVG and AVAST. It is fast, effective and is popular.
